I love dressing up for Halloween as long as its not over the top creepy.
This year Dan and I will be laying pretty low tonight,
but Louis wanted to celebrate with his costume and candy!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Penny was feeling left out
so we found her something to wear too

CHICAGO! Oh what a time we had!

October 19th, 20th, 21st.
Here is our weekend in photos!
Rainy as we left Richland Center Friday evening.

Paying to cross our very first toll booth.
He gave us a momento -a receipt ha ha!
Saturday morning we got up early to head to the train station.
Pretty sure I was dancing around  because it was so cold...
and I was very excited when I saw the train pulling up.

Louis has his FIRST TRAIN RIDE!
He slept most of the way, and stayed bundled up.
We rode the train for an hour.
Once we got to Chicago we made our way to Willis Tower.

The tower is the black dot you see, and from the top you can view four states on a clear day!
No refunds for inclement weather...
My favorite was viewing lake Michigan.

While we waited our turn to get to the top
of what used to be the Sears Tower,
we viewed info and pics along the walls.

Chi-Town

We FINALLY made it to the top,
although the wait didn't seem that long as we had fun friends to chat with.
We also got to watch a little movie about the history of the tower.
The elevator ride was amazing-we went up SO many floors,
my ears kept popping the whole ride.

The windy city is very beautiful from above!
That said, I'm still glad I don't live there. :)

There were clear boxes you could step out into
and look straight down the side of the tower.

So we tried it out! It made my stomach flip flop to look down...
Louis, Dan, Laurel, Tiffany, Jason

Looking down from Dan's perspective. WOW!

Louis loved hanging out with us. :)

There are 103 floors in the Willis Tower!
The latino dude in the background thinks that is awesome.

The Monson's and Louis and I are waiting for the elevator to ride down all those floors,
and the dude is still posing in the background ha ha!

Looking up at the tower from the ground level.

Welcome to the city!

The streets were nice and busy for a Saturday.
I had a great time making Dan stop for pictures throughout the day.

I was fascinated by the structures and bridges and buildings!

Next we made our way to Millennium Park.
There is a huge amphitheater there.
You can see the structure that hangs above the stage  in this pic.

The Monson's were fantastic tour guides!
We talked them into taking us around the city :)
It was their first time for some of the sights we saw, a
nd not their first time for others.
They were really good sports about all the pictures I wanted to take!

Favorite photo of the day

Chicago Style dog for Dan that has been "drug through the garden"
Corn Dog for me. DELICIOUS!!!

Do we love the city? On days like this!!!

Navy Pier. Interesting place. We had a lovely walk!
Check out the signs and how far from Cali we are.

Inside one of the building there was a stained glass museum.
The work was amazing!
I learned that Chicago is famous for its stained glass.
This was my favorite display.

Sure love my Danno!

The views from the pier on every side were really cool!

Happy Halloween at the Pier
Halloween is much creepier away from Utah...

We took a water taxi back to the train station.
The ride was FREEZING!
Louis might have been the only one who stayed warm.
We still had a great time though.

Back on the train again
and we are so ready to get back to St. Charles
where we started the day.
Chicago Style PIZZA-a new favorite!
We might need to call it death by cheese. So tasty!!!
Thanks Jason and Tiffany for sharing your new home and city with us!

Little Lou Man was ready to sleep. So were we.
